House of Lords Working Practices

The Leader of the House also works to develop the working practices of the House. In 2002 the then Leader, the late Lord Williams of Mostyn, chaired a Group which proposed a package of changes. These were debated in the House and then considered by the Procedure Committee, and introduced as an experiment for two Sessions. In 2004 the current Leader, Baroness Amos, chaired a Group to review the package, and the House confirmed it with some modifications.
